The Group Guide
The road to the Round of 32
Forty-eight teams, twelve groups. The top two of every group go through — and so do the eight best third-placed sides.
Finish in the top two and you are through. Finish third and you might still make it: the eight best third-placed teams across all twelve groups also advance — which is why the final round of group games matters so much, and why every group below lists its decisive same-time double-header.
